Sean Wong is currently a rokudan (6th dan) renshi and has been leading Karate classes since 1984. His passion for Karate has journeyed him from practicing Karate for fitness, into self-defense, into sport, and into a vocation. It is all he does. Today, he practices and teaches Karate-do as a form of Budo (the way of self-improvement through the martial arts) first and all other forms second. His philosophy is that for every medal that we win in sport, we must be twice as good in traditional Karate. He has adopted his master's philosophy which is, the better we get in Karate, the more important it is for us to improve ourselves as a decent human being.Wong is a member of the world renowned school of Okinawa Goju-Ryu called Meibukan and a student of the its Hombu Dojo president, Master Yagi Meitetsu (Hanshi 10th Dan). The Meibukan Hombu Dojo has been an integral part of Okinawa's Karate and its founder Yagi Meitoku (Dai Sensei) - is among world's most decorated Karate men. Wong strives to fulfill his obligations to the Hombu Dojo by acting as Yagi Meitetsu Sensei assistant. To find out more about Sean you can visit his new blog at www.pureheartdirtysole.com.
