Since 1985, Richard Fall has taught out of the London Goju Club. He currently ranked as 3rd in Ontario and is a member of our Elite Master's Team. He has a variety of competitive experience and was among the first Canadian to compete in Tokyo in a full contact match in the 80's.
Morana has been practicing Karate for over 15 years and has competition experience at the national level. She continues to challenge everyone in her division and competes today as a part of Team Ontario in the Master's Division.
Andrew is a phenomenon. With under 4 years of Elite experience, he has made Canada's national senior team as a member of team kata. He has earned GOLD and the national level and a BRONZE in the Jr. Pan Am Karate Championships.
At 19 years old, Adam successfully juggles his university studies and provincial level competition. He brings home medals in every event and has qualified in USA's AAU Karate Nationals.
He started his competitive phase of Karate half way into the season and surprised us with 2 podium finishes. He continues to earn medals and with a full season, looks forward to a Ontario title next year.
Brittany is a rising star and is the provincial champion in her division. Earning medals in every event she has attended, she continues to challenge herself by getting good grades in school. Although, she lives in Pickering, she makes it into Markham 2 - 3 times per week to train.
Mitchell is our little gem. He shines in our regional and local events and is working hard for the ever evasive provincial medals. His division of intermediate 10 year olds is extremely competitive but it has never stopped him from give him his all.
Mateus is new to the team and he challenges himself in both kata and kumite competitions. Like Mitchell he shines in our regional events returning with medals everytime. He trains with Mitchell in London with Sensei Richard Fall.
Maher is DYNAMITE! With explosive power, he was able to pull off his first podium finish at the provincial level in March 2009. Maher is much smaller than his opponents but his BIG heart shined through and he was able to overcome his size.
Are you ready for our version of the BIG MAC attack? Mackenzy has a gift for Kata. At just 9 years old, he is capable of challenging even some adults in his Kata performance. He has a perfect record in the provincial level and is the current Kata champion for Ontario. He continues to challenge himself and is determined to also equal his performance in Kumite.
Why not start your day of with some SPECIAL K? Our own little Kiana Wong is our current golden girl. Only 7 years old, she has already earned herself the title and the Jr. Karate Olympic Champion for both Kata and Kumite. Already our provincial champion in her division, she also qualifies for the AAU National Champioships in the USA. She works hard and plays even harder.
Our head coach plans events and prepares the team for each event. He continually strives to improve his coaching skills for the benefit of the team. With over 25 years of competition experience as a coach and athlete, he brings a worldly approach to the sport of Karate in Markham. He believes strong athletes cannot forget its traditional roots. He has NCCP Technical Level 1 and 2 for the sport of Karate.
Roz has always had a competitive spirit and enjoys the challenges of being an athlete. She has taken this passion and become referee at the provincial level. She is able to contribute to the team from a referees point of view and balances the direction of Team Meibukan.
